Hello, I’m Virginie – founder of Splash of Light.
I have always been fascinated by the power of light – how it interacts with surfaces, softens spaces and influences how we feel within them. The quiet interplay between light and shadow, and the depth of emotion it can bring to a room, has shaped my journey as a lighting designer.
After a successful first career in nursing and management, I decided to follow this passion and gained my professional qualifications in lighting design in 2013. I noticed that the importance of considered, bespoke lighting design was often overlooked in the interiors landscape and so, shortly after I qualified, Splash of Light was born. An independent lighting design consultancy specialising in luxury residential and architectural lighting schemes across London and Surrey.
My approach is thoughtful, collaborative and always tailored. Every home is different, as is every client. That’s why I always take the time to understand your needs, daily life, and ultimately how you would like your home to feel. Together we achieve a layered lighting scheme with intention, that is not only beautiful but also functional and effective. We also offer design-only consultancy for complex or challenging spaces, delivering creative solutions and technical expertise where lighting requires additional attention. While our process typically follows the RIBA stages, we are flexible and adapt our approach to meet client needs.
